Squint is the misalignment of the eyes. The aims of treatment of squint in order of importance are:

    to preserve or restore vision

    straighten the eyes and

    restore binocular vision.

Various types of treatment available depend on the patient's condition. Patients are either treated for any significant refractive error or the eyes are checked for presence of amblyopia.

The squint is treated by the surgery of either one or both the eyes. The surgery involves weakening or strengthening of the relevant muscles to restore the balance and to get a good coordination.
